Funding and Grants

The constitution of the Society allows for the Committee to award grants to individuals and organisations from time to time when the Society has sufficient funds to meet its own ongoing needs and obligations.

Art Acquisition

Falmouth Art Gallery - Children's Illustrated Book Archive and other artwork

FDFAS sponsorship of the Children's Illustrated Book Archive* is administered through Falmouth Art Gallery.

Other donations, following requests from the Gallery, relate to grants towards the purchase of miscellaneous works of art.

We agreed to support the purchase of the Preliminary design by Ernest Howard Shepard for cover of "The Wind in the Willows", by Kenneth Grahame, 1959 edn, pencil on paper, 9.5 x 15.8cm, signed E.H.S.

The grant was not paid as the gallery was not willing to pay the auction price achieved.
